Valsa has knowledge and leadership in designing VFM monitoring and reporting frameworks for the implementation of long term projects. She benefits from a good foundation of knowledge of evaluations techniques- theory based evaluations, results chains and causality, working with RCT data, quantitative analysis, mixed methods, surveys, focus groups and realist methods. Her focus is on evaluation for accountability and learning for future programme design. Valsa recently took the full time position as M&E team leader for the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF) 2013 to 2015 based in South Africa.
Recent consultancies include several annual reviews, mid term reviews and project completion reports, independent action research evaluations and independent evaluations spanning various sectors. Recent sectors focus for evaluation work has been humanitarian sector, low carbon development, research and evidence, child nutrition and behaviour change, adolescent girls’ platforms.
